FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of beverage containers from aluminium alloys. Container or container precursor production method involves obtaining aluminium alloy sheet formed by aluminium alloy series 3xxx or 5xxx ingot rolling, wherein amount of Mn in aluminium alloy sheet is from 0.45 wt. % to not more than 0.95 wt. % of Mn, wherein, prior to rolling, the ingot is heated to temperature and for a time sufficient to achieve a ratio f/r of dispersoids of less than 7.65, where f/r is the ratio of the amount of the secondary phase to the size of the secondary phase; and moulding a container precursor or a container from an aluminium alloy sheet, wherein the aluminium alloy sheet moulded in the container precursor or container has less than the grooves observed on the surface and corrugation in comparison with precursor or container formed from aluminium alloy sheet rolled from ingot and having f/r dispersoids value of 7.65 or more.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at reduction of defects of produced containers due to improved formability of aluminium alloys.
