FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: random number generation system includes pulse driver; laser diode emitting laser pulses; a fibre-optic unbalanced interferometer which converts phase noise of laser radiation into amplitude modulation; an optical circulator or an insulator used to prevent undesirable feedback to the laser resonator; a photodetector, detecting laser pulses at the output of the interferometer; digital converter, digitizing output data from photodetector; statistical control unit used to calculate probability density of photodetector output signal and determining the parameter T related to the ratio of classical noise to quantum noise and allowing to estimate the quantum component of random signal variations and to ensure the stability of the system to attacks; and a computing unit which receives the digitized signal from the digital converter and outputs the true-random bit sequence.
EFFECT: technical result is simplification of design with preservation of protection from attacks.
