FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the laser-arc welding method of the workpieces butt joint of carbon steel with the walls thickness of 10–45 mm. Exposing the welded surfaces to the first defocused laser beam. By the first laser beam action, performing the welded edges melting until the gap between them closure with the welding bath formation. Then acting by the arc augmented laser welding with consumable electrode, with the single welding bath formation together with the second laser beam. Distance between the first and second laser beams is 50–70 mm. Welding arc burner is placed in front of the second laser beam, which is focused on the welding bath surface. Distance between the second laser beam focused spot center and the arc contact point is 10–15 mm. Tilting the second laser beam is towards the welded edges movement direction by an angle of θ 20–25° relative to the welded workpiece surface normal line. Tilting the welding arc burner in the direction opposite to the welded edges movement direction by an angle of ϕ 30–35° relative to the welded workpiece surface normal line. In the process of welding, supplying the protective gas to the electrode zone in the same direction as the welding arc burner electrode.
EFFECT: technical result consists in enabling of the welded joints hardness growth containment and in improvement of the welding bath degassing, which allows to minimize or completely eliminate the risk of formation of such defects as crystallization cracks and pores.
