FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to two-phase ferritic-martensite stainless steel used for making articles used in production of oil-saturated sandstones and in sugar industry. Steel contains in wt %: from 11.5 to 12 chromium, from 0.8 to 1.5 manganese, from 0.75 to 1.5 nickel, ≤ 0.5 of silicon, ≤ 0.2 molybdenum, ≤ 0, 0025 boron, ≤ 0.025 of carbon, ≤ 0.01 sulfur, ≤ 0.03 nitrogen, optionally at least one of copper and phosphorus, wherein copper content ≤ 0.25, and total content of carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus and sulfur ≤ 0.1, the rest is iron and impurities. Steel has such Brinell hardness (HB) and Charpy V-notch impact energy (CVN) on samples with V-notch at temperature of −40 °C, satisfying the condition: CVN (foot—pound) + (0.4 × HB) is 160 or more.
EFFECT: providing high hardness and wear resistance and/or wear resistance.
