FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed invention relates to magnetic separator for dry separation of particles of material with different magnetic sensitivity. Magnetic separator for dry separation of particles of material with different magnetic susceptibility includes a cylinder revolving about its vertical axis, located rigidly inside the cylinder and extending along the entire length of the cylinder magnetic device, which is made for production of magnetic field continuous in longitudinal direction of cylinder, sorting chamber, which extends along part of cylinder shell surface along cylinder circumference and parallel to cylinder longitudinal axis along cylinder height, means for dispersed supply of material particles into sorting chamber, facilities for production of transfer air flow through sorting chamber, motor for cylinder rotation around its longitudinal axis. Magnetic device and cylinder are made so that they are located relative to each other so that magnetic field has sufficient force in zone of part of surface of shell with sorting chamber and in sorting chamber so that particles of material can be attracted to surface of shell. Magnetic separator operates under conditions of low pressure relative to ambient air by means of an air blower, which pumped air from magnetic separator. During operation, material particles are transported via sorting chamber by means of conveying air flow. During operation cylinder surface due to cylinder rotation moves mainly vertically relative to transportation air flow direction.
EFFECT: high efficiency of dry separation of particles of material with different magnetic sensitivity.
