FIELD: engine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to piston-type two-stroke internal combustion engines and can be used in making engine for mobile (for example, cars, locomotives, ships) and stationary (for example, electric generators, pumps) devices. Proposed engine comprises cylinder accommodating piston, intake and discharge valves arranged on cylinder cover. On inlet valve there is a grid located above lower edge of cylinder cover in open position, thus providing necessary speed and direction of blowdown air flow from inlet valve towards piston. Then this flow is dissipated and expels the exhaust gases from the cylinder, replacing it with fresh air. Protrusions corresponding to position and dimensions of valve assemblies can be made on the piston. Engine preserves the advantages of two-stroke and four-stroke engines (accordingly, high specific power and environmental friendliness).

EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of oil consumption and improvement of ecological characteristics of two-stroke internal combustion engine.
