FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed method of operation consists in use of liquid column for gas compression in second stage, wherein liquid pressure is created in under piston cavity of first stage. Compressor comprises drive shaft (1) and crankcase (2) with a slash-crank crank drive mechanism consisting of crank (3), con-rod (4), pin (5) and cross-head (6). First-stage cylinder (7) is installed on crankcase (2), comprises piston (8), which divides cylinder (7) into two parts, above-piston cavity (9) is working, and under-piston cavity (12) is filled with liquid and is connected to lower part cylinder (13) of the second stage, having working cavity (14), through high-pressure flexible hose (15). Second stage cylinder (13) is fixed on crankcase (2) by its upper part via hinge (16) and post (17). Cylinders are equipped with self-acting suction (18), (19) and pressure (20), (21) valves and are interconnected by heat exchanger (22). Valve (18) is connected to low pressure gas source, valve (21) is connected to high pressure gas consumer. In reciprocating motion of piston (8) gas is compressed in cylinder (7) of first stage and supplied to cylinder (13) of second stage, where pressure is compressed in cavity (14) by liquid coming from under piston cavity (12) of first stage during piston stroke (8) downwards. Compressor weight and dimensions are reduced, possibility to increase second stage injection pressure.
EFFECT: invention relates to piston machines and can be used in making compressors, which require high compactness and reliability when compressing gases to high pressures.
