FIELD: technological processes ; chemical or physical processes.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for selective hydrogenation of hydrocarbon feedstock containing polyunsaturated molecules containing at least 3 carbon atoms, in which hydrogenation is carried out under conditions where said feedstock and a gas phase containing hydrogen are passed through a hydrogenation catalyst, located in a single main reactor with a fixed layer containing at least two catalyst layers, and in a smaller-size safety reactor, containing at least one catalytic layer, wherein said reactors are installed in series, for use in a cyclic manner, with successive repetition of steps a), b), c), c'), d) and d'): step a), during which the feedstock passes successively all catalyst layers of the main reactor; from the moment of decontamination of first catalytic bed of main reactor—stage b), during which feedstock is fed into safety reactor, then, bypassing first, partially deactivated catalytic layer of main reactor, to nearest, non-deactivated catalytic layer of said main reactor, located immediately downstream relative to feed circulation; step c), during which the raw material passes all and once all of the catalytic layers of the main reactor; step c'), simultaneously with step c), during which deactivated catalyst of catalytic layer or layers of safety reactor is subjected to regeneration or replacement with fresh catalyst; step d), during which the feed is only passed through the safety reactor; step d'), simultaneously with step d), during which deactivated catalyst of at least two catalytic layers of main reactor is subjected to regeneration or replacement with fresh catalyst.
EFFECT: disclosed method enables to eliminate undesirable polyunsaturated compounds from hydrocarbon material.
