FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalyst for hydrogenating hydrocarbon material comprising polyunsaturated and / or aromatic compounds, a method of producing said catalyst and a hydrogenation method. Catalyst comprises a calcined oxide matrix, preferably aluminium oxide and an active phase comprising nickel, wherein said active phase is completely uniformly distributed within said calcined oxide matrix mainly from aluminium oxide, wherein said matrix has content of calcined aluminium oxide of 90 wt. % or more based on the total weight of said matrix. Nickel content ranges from 5 to 65 wt. % of said element based on the total weight of catalyst. Said active phase does not contain a group VIB metal. Nickel particles have a diameter varying from 1.5 to 15 nm. Catalyst has mean mesopore diameter ranging from 12 to 25 nm, mean macropore diameter in range of 50 to 300 nm, mesopore volume, measured by mercury porosimetry, in range of 0.40 to 0.65 ml/g and total pore volume, measured by mercury porosimetry, in range of 0.45 to 0.90 ml/g, and wherein the macropore volume ranges from 10 to 40 % of the total pore volume. Method of producing the catalyst involves the following steps: a) a first step of precipitating, in an aqueous reaction medium, at least one basic precursor and at least one acidic precursor; b) a step of heating the suspension obtained at step a) to obtain an alumina gel; c) a second step for depositing the suspension by adding to the suspension at least one basic precursor and at least one acidic precursor; d) a step of filtering the suspension to obtain an alumina gel; e) a step of drying said alumina gel to obtain a powder; f) a step for thermal treatment of the powder; g) a step for mixing the calcined porous aluminium oxide obtained at step f) with a solution containing at least one nickel precursor to obtain a paste, h) a step of moulding the obtained paste, i) a step of drying the moulded paste.
EFFECT: method enables to obtain a catalyst with distribution of pores, as well as with the size of nickel particles, which are especially suitable for hydrogenation reactions, and provide porosity, which is especially suitable for facilitating diffusion of reactants into the porous medium, and then further reaction thereof with the active phase.
