FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mesoporous catalysts for producing butadiene from ethanol. Disclosed is a mesoporous catalyst based on a mixed oxide containing silicon and at least one metal M selected from tantalum, niobium and mixtures thereof, in which the weight content of metal M ranges from 0.1 and 20 % of the weight of the mixed oxide, and silicon and metal M are bonded by a covalent bond. Disclosed also is a method of producing said catalyst and use thereof for producing 1,3-butadiene from ethanol.
EFFECT: technical result is reduction of catalyst cost while maintaining its efficiency.
