FIELD: veterinary medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary medicine and represents a method for stimulating serotoninergic cerebral structures in animals, involving transcranial electric stimulation of serotoninergic structures by feeding on the electrodes located on the animal's head, at first direct current slowly increasing from 0 to 4.0–5.0 mA, and then rectangular pulses with frequency of 70–80 Hz, pulse duration of 3.5–4.0 ms and amplitude of 4–5 mA, with duration of electrical session 30–40 minutes, characterized by that before transcranial electrostimulation, tryptophan 4.0–4.5 mg per 1 kg of body weight is fed into animals, once a day for three consecutive days, and then on the fifth day one session of transcranial electrostimulation is performed.
EFFECT: use of the declared method provides activation of serotonin synthesis in cerebral structures, increase of its content and duration of time of blood presence in animals.
