FIELD: veterinary medicine.
SUBSTANCE: transcranial electrostimulation (TES) is performed prior to shearing. At that, 30-35 minutes before the TES, the sheep receive dalargin intramuscularly at a dose of 3.0-4.0 mg/head. TES is carried out using electrodes fixed in the region of the frontal (cathode) and occipital (anode) bones. Initially, direct current is applied, slowly increasing from 0 to 3.0-4.0 mA during 2.0-2.5 minutes. Then, current is supplied in the form of rectangular pulses with a frequency of 75-80 Hz, pulse duration of 3.5-4.0 ms, and amplitude of 4-5 mA. The procedure is carried out once with a session duration of 30-40 minutes.
EFFECT: improved effectiveness of preventive measures due to a combination of optimally selected parameters of transcranial electrostimulation and implementation of analgetic effect of the injected dalargin dose, potentiating an anti-stress effect of transcranial electrostimulation.
