FIELD: hygiene.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to oral care compositions and methods for inhibiting the formation of plaque biofilms by bacteria and, more specifically, to compositions for oral care, containing a combination of Magnolia Bark Extract (MBE) and ethyl Nα-lauroyl-L-arginine (LAE) in a weight ratio of LAE and MDE from 16:1 to 4:1.
EFFECT: oral care compositions are useful for improving oral hygiene, including inhibition of saliva formation by biofilms of plaque and reduced adhesion of plaque to teeth.
