FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed chewing gum composition contains at least one water-soluble coloring compound and at least one water-insoluble coloring compound. At least one water-soluble coloring compound is released from the chewing gum after chewing for 5 minutes to 20 minutes. At least one water-soluble coloring compound is selected from a group consisting of FD&C blue dye 1, FD&C blue dye 2, liquid caramel coloring agent (standard or low content of 4-MEI), FD&C red 40, FD&C red 3, FD&C yellow 5, FD&C yellow 6, FD&C green 3 and their combinations. At least one water-insoluble coloring compound is selected from a group consisting of a color pigment, titanium dioxide, curcumin, iron oxide, colorful varnish FD&C blue 1, any food paint varnish FD&C or oil-soluble dye, beta-carotene, other carotenoids, beta-apo-8'-carotene, canthaxanthin, chlorophylls and combinations thereof. Also disclosed is a method of producing a color-changing chewing gum.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at chewing gum, changing color after chewing during 5–20 minutes, and to inform consumer on possibility of end of chewing process or end of release of dental active substance.
