FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to determine orientation of natural jointing of rock. Essence of invention consists in fact that performing lowering into cased well of measuring equipment to depth below analyzed interval, equipment lifting with logging of cement stone density logs with reference to change of angle by a recorder by means of emitters and gamma radiation detectors and an angular position sensor relative to the selected orientation plane. Approximate plane is used to select vertical plane going through north-south magnetic meridian, which is determined by inclination meter lowered in measuring equipment. Simultaneously thickness of walls of pipes of casing string is determined by means of additional gamma-radiation sensors in analyzed interval. Orientation of natural jointing is determined in direction of maximum depth in opposite directions from well penetration of cement stone into formation, exceeding probabilistic deviation. Sensitivity of gamma-ray detectors can be controlled in inverse proportion to the thickness of walls of pipes of the casing string for leveling attenuation of gamma-radiation.
EFFECT: possibility of determining prevailing orientation of natural jointing of rock in cased wells with absolute reference on cardinal directions using an inclination meter.
