FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: catcher (1) of sliding action for elevator (2) contains movable brake element (5), which for braking process moves to mating surface (9) in direction (11) of pressing. In mounted state, between braking element (5) and mating surface (9) there is rail (3). Provided is guide device (44) for braking element (5), having guide surface (45) and single guiding roller unit (43). Guide roller unit (43) interacts with guide surface (45) so that when braking element (5) moves in braking direction (22), braking element (5) is moved simultaneously in direction of pressing (11). Direction (11) of pressing is perpendicular to direction (22) of braking. During braking guide roller unit (43) is rolled along guide surface (45), which is made so that movement of brake element (5) in braking direction (22) into movement of braking element (5) in direction of pressing (11) is degressive. In addition, proposed are elevator (2) with such catcher (1) of sliding action and method of braking cabin (4) of elevator, carried out by such catcher (1).
EFFECT: invention provides fast supply of braking element at lower structural height or use of long braking elements at normal structural height; long brake elements allow maintaining low specific pressure between rail and brake or mating surface.
