FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protection devices against objects falling inside the aircraft engine. Protective device of jet aircraft engine is hollow air intake (1) tightly connected by its tail part to inlet front nozzle of protected engine. Air intake walls (1) have air intake holes (2). Protective fairing (3), which closes air intake (1) from outside, protects it from ingress of foreign objects. Nose part of protective cowling (3) is fixed on air intake (1), its lateral support is provided by brackets (4) of protective fairing (3) attachment to air intake (1). Both air intake (1) and fairing (3) have the shape of half of elongated ellipsoid of revolution, wherein radius of minor axis of fairing (3) is larger than similar radius of air intake (1).

EFFECT: improved aerodynamic shape of the protective device, increased air flow and improved protection against bird collisions.
