SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine. Method for evaluating the motor activity of animal hind limbs after receiving a spinal injury using the swimming test is performed by measuring changes in angular values with a fixed axis in the hip, knee and ankle joints. Before swimming test, each animal's hind extremities are marked with points arranged to mark each bending angle. Then video filming is performed, video files are processed by computer and dispersion of each of bending angles is performed for one motor cycle. If the value of the dispersion ratio is from 2100 to 2765.73 (degree2), the degree of recovery of the motor activity of the hind limb is considered to be the norm, with the value of the dispersion index from 0 to 700 (degree2), the degree of motor activity recovery is considered to be low, if the value of the dispersion index is from 700 to 1400 (degree2), the degree of motor activity recovery is considered to be average; if the dispersion index is from 1400 to 2100 (degree2), the degree of recovery of motor activity is considered to be high.

EFFECT: technical result of the invention is higher accuracy of determining motor activity of animal's hind extremities.
