SUBSTANCE: invention relates to information and measuring equipment in power engineering. Device for detecting frequency and power oscillation source comprises active power sensor and stator voltage frequency sensor connected to terminals of synchronous generator, unit for determining spectral components of active power, connected to output of active power sensor; unit for determining spectral components of stator voltage frequency, connected to output of stator voltage frequency sensor; amplitude comparator for determining maximum amplitude of spectral components of active power, connected to output of active power spectral components determination unit; amplitude comparator for determining maximum amplitude of spectral components of stator voltage frequency, connected to output of stator frequency components determining unit; a frequency comparator connected to the output of the unit for determining spectral components of active power and output of the unit for determining spectral components of the stator voltage frequency; logic unit connected to output of amplitude comparator for determination of maximum amplitude of spectral components of active power, to output of amplitude comparator for determination of maximum amplitude of spectral components of stator voltage frequency and output of frequency comparator; outputs of unit for determining spectral components of active power, unit for determining spectral components of voltage frequency of stator and logic unit are connected to inputs of analyzing device, wherein signal at analyzer output appears in case, when the synchronous generator turbine automatic control system is a source of undamped frequency and power oscillations in the power system.

EFFECT: detection of a source of occurrence of undamped oscillations of frequency and power caused by incorrect operation of the automatic control system of generator turbines of electric stations.
