SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, neurology, to methods of treating patients with spinal osteochondrosis. Invention is used in practical healthcare institutions: hospitals, polyclinics, health and recreation resorts, medical and rehabilitation centres. Method of treating patients with vertebral osteochondrosis involves stretching the spine on a traction bed in a radon emanatorium with radon concentration of 150 Bq/l for 60 minutes, and subsequent application of radioactive dressings with radon and its decay products with total activity of 2 MBq for three hours locally on the affected vertebral column. Method for treating spinal osteochondrosis leads to eliminating compression of intervertebral hernial spinal root, eliminating root syndrome, reducing or eliminating pain syndrome, reducing puffiness surrounding the spinal column, improving blood circulation and microcirculation, reducing inflammation, repairing the damaged root, body desensitization. Proposed method of treatment can be used in any medical institution having a radon therapy unit.

EFFECT: proposed method of treating patients with vertebral osteochondrosis enables to achieve stable therapeutic effect, prolonged remission and improved quality of life of patients.
