SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field-based field instrument of automation equipment based on Power over Ethernet technology. Field device (1) includes: housing (2) of field device, located on housing (2) of field device Ethernet-output (3) for connection of field device to network (4) of Ethernet, so that field device (1) can be powered by power over Ethernet-output (3) and exchange data with network (4), electronics (5) of conversion of voltage applied to Ethernet-terminal (3) into operating voltage, electronics (6) of a field device, to which a working voltage is applied, and which serves to register a process parameter and transmit a registered process parameter in form of process data through Ethernet output (3). Voltage conversion electronics (5) comprises at least one first device comprising at least one resistive element (8) made with possibility of heating, at least in the first operational state of the internal space of housing (2) of the field device to the first threshold temperature, and in second operational state facilitates conversion of voltage applied to Ethernet terminal (3) to operating voltage so that field device electronics (6) in second operating state can register process parameter and transmit registered process parameter in form of process data via Ethernet output (3).

EFFECT: possibility of reliable operation at low temperatures.
