FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of hard alloys. Solid alloy contains solid material grains with average size of 1–1000 nm and heterogeneously distributed binder metal in the form of islands with average size of 0.1–10 mcm at average distance between islands of 1.0–7.0 mcm. Powder of solid material with BET average grain size of less than 1.0 mcm is mixed with binder powder. A strong non-dried element is formed from the mixture and solid-phase sintering is performed.
EFFECT: alloy has high hardness and fracture toughness.
