FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: sintered hard alloys based on titanium carbonitride for the manufacture of cutting tools. It can be used to make indexable multi-faceted inserts for high-speed cutting of hard-to-cut steels and alloys and other wear-resistant products. Hard alloy contains, wt.%: titanium carbonitride 45-65, tungsten carbide 15-25, tantalum carbide 3-5, cementing binder 17-25. The content of molybdenum in the cementing binder is from 20 to 50 wt.%, and the mass ratio of Co:Ni is in the range from 1:0.6 to 1:0.9. To obtain a cutting tool blank from a hard alloy, wet grinding of powders of refractory components is carried out, while joint grinding of titanium carbonitride and tungsten carbide is carried out and tungsten carbide is separately ground. Then the resulting powders are mixed with powders of cobalt, molybdenum and nickel in a given amount, molded and vacuum compression sintering is carried out. The mixture for producing a hard alloy is also characterized.
EFFECT: high physical and mechanical and operational characteristics of the cutting tool are provided.
