METHOD FOR TRANSURETHRAL RESECTION OF PROSTATE AND/OR BLADDER IN PATIENTS WITH MORBID OBESITY AND GIGANTISM Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B17/00 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to urology. Patient is placed on an operating table in a position for lithotomy. Penis and a scrotum are lifted upwards and fixed, then a longitudinal incision along the middle line of the perineum is exposed to a bulbous section of the urethra with using a Scott retractor. That is followed by a longitudinal exposure of the spongy body for 2 cm and fixing sutures applied. Urethra lumen is opened, the suture edges are sutured to the edges of the incision and a resectoscope is introduced through the urethrotoimic approach. That is followed by the required volume of the surgical stage and, at the end of the endoscopic stage, a Foley catheter is delivered along the urethra. Further, the urethral defect is closed with interrupted sutures of vicryl 4/0, the second layer is closed with the spongy urethral body by interrupted sutures of vicryl 4/0. Surgical wound is closed in layers.

EFFECT: method enables transurethral resection of bladder prostate with using endoscopes of standard length with any manifestation of accompanying obesity and provide adequate urological care for patients suffering from prostate and bladder diseases with morphine obesity in virtually any hospital having the possibility of endourologic surgeries.
