SUBSTANCE: invention relates to two versions of the method of extraction distillation. One of them envisages introduction of a mixture which contains acrylonitrile and acetonitrile in at least one distillation column, where mixture has temperature of 162 °F (72.2 °C) to 175 °F (79.4 °C) before introduction into distillation column; introduction of mixture, which contains acrylonitrile and acetonitrile, in contact with an aqueous solvent to obtain an azeotropic mixture of acrylonitrile and water, where water solvent has temperature from 102 °F (38.8 °C) to 128 °F (53.3 °C) before introduction into distillation column; and separating the azeotropic mixture of acrylonitrile and water from acetonitrile to obtain an upper stream and a side stream. At that 0.05 wt % or less of acetonitrile is retained in the upper stream and 0.5 wt % of acrylonitrile is retained in the lateral flow. Invention also relates to a method of controlling an extraction distillation column.
EFFECT: disclosed method enables to minimize power consumption and other resources.
