SUBSTANCE: invention relates to two versions of a method of extracting acrylonitrile. One of the versions includes: introduction of an initial stream, which contains acrylonitrile, HCN and water, into the overhead column; distillation of the initial stream in the overhead to obtain an overhead stream of the overhead tower which contains HCN and a bottom liquid stream which contains acrylonitrile; outlet of side flow from side branch pipe of head run, wherein said side stream contains a mixture of water and organic substances; separation in the decanter of at least some part of water and organic substances from the side stream and separation of organic substances into at least two streams, wherein one of the organic matter streams is returned to the overhead tower above the overhead lead and one flow is returned below the overhead stringer lateral branch.

EFFECT: use of the proposed method allows reducing power consumption.
