FIELD: defectoscopy.

SUBSTANCE: use of non-destructive testing of solid materials. Essence of the invention lies in the fact that, in order to implement the disclosed method and device, the optical-acoustic transducer and the piezoelectric element array are given a toroidal shape, which is focused so that its center of curvature, determined by the curvature radii and angular apertures in planes XY, coincides with the origin used when positioning the analyzed object, wherein the analyzed object is placed in an immersion medium and arranged such that the emitted acoustic signal is focused not on its surface but at a certain depth inside it. This part of wave field is working area of acoustic signal analysis, and its dimensions are determined by distance between two focuses of Gaussian beams corresponding to waves in planes XY.

EFFECT: high accuracy of a visualization system operating in real time, as well as providing the possibility of creating a device which enables to study various objects of an arbitrary shape, including biological objects, based on the use of the disclosed method.
