SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless or wireline systems. Data to be transmitted over a channel from a transmitting device to a receiving device are encoded to obtain a code word. Code word is set by means of a plurality of variable nodes associated with a plurality of control nodes of a bipartite graph representing the code. Code word is transmitted along the channel so that certain variable nodes are transmitted before other variable nodes. Certain variable nodes are associated with a subset of control nodes of a bipartite graph and a code subword is determined, which is known in the receiving device. In the receiving device, decoding ability of the transmitted codeword is estimated using a code subword before reception of all variable nodes of the codeword.

EFFECT: technical result of the invention is to improve the retransmission process in a communication network.
