FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of cleaning gas mixtures from hydrogen or isotopes thereof in a static mode from oxygen-containing gas mixtures in which it is necessary to reduce or eliminate accumulation of carbon (II) monoxide, water vapor and organic substances in closed volumes, and can be used in electrochemical, chemical, radio electronic and instrument-making industry. Hydrogen absorber comprises housing 1 in the form of hollow container made from aramid fabric with areas of catalyst 2 and adsorbent 3 arranged in series and interconnected. Area of catalyst 2 is arranged inside protective element 4. Housing 1 and protective element 4 are interconnected by connecting elements 5 made of aramid material.

EFFECT: design of device provides for receipt of reagents to surface of catalyst and surface of adsorbent in static mode with maximum speed due to use of aramid fabric for housing and protective element provides fire-resistance of device, due to absence of hazardous ingredients of absorber increases its safety, while also increasing the service life of the device, reducing dust formation, improving performance by increasing the rate of oxidising hydrogen and removing harmful impurities of carbon (II) monoxide and vapors of organic substances from the gaseous medium.
