FIELD: data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to object recognition. Detection of fraudulent objects and analysis of vitality is carried out using a software-based solution on a user device, such as an intelligent telephone having a camera, a sound output component (e.g. a speaker) and an audio input component (e.g., a microphone). One or more audio signals are emitted from the sound output component of the user device, reflected from the target object and received back to the audio input component of the device. On the basis of reflections, determination is made whether the target object contains a three-dimensional face-like structure and / or face-like tissue. Using at least this definition, it is stated whether it is probable that the target object is a fraudulent, and not legal, living person.
EFFECT: technical result consists in ensuring the object recognition reliability.
