FIELD: computer equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means for determining the least integer number of bits required to represent non-differentiable gain values. Each channel signal in each frame contains a group of sampling values. Each channel signal of each HOA data frame is assigned a differentiated amplification factor value. At that, differentiated value of amplification coefficient causes change of amplitudes of first values of sample of channel signal in current frame ((k – 2)) of HOA data in relation to second channel signal sampling values in previous frame ((k – 3)) of HOA data. Resultant signals of the channels with an adapted gain are encoded in the coding device. At that, representation of HOA data frame is performed in spatial domain for O signals wj(t) of virtual loudspeakers, wherein the positions of the virtual loudspeakers lie on the unit sphere and must be uniformly distributed over that single sphere.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of accuracy of determining the required number of bits.
