SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering. The method for restoring compressed representation of HOA comprises perceptual encoding of compressed dominant directional signals and compressed residual signals to ensure restored dominant directional signals and restored time domain signals representing a residual HOA component in a spatial domain; re-correlation of restored time domain signals to obtain a corresponding residual reduced-order HOA component; determination of restored residual HOA component on the basis of the corresponding residual reduced-order HOA component; determination of predicted directional signals on the basis of at least a parameter; determination of HOA sound field representation on the basis of restored dominant directional signals, predicted directional signals and restored residual HOA component.

EFFECT: the technical result consists in improvement of sound field representation compression processing of higher-order Ambisonics (HOA).
