FIELD: nuclear engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear engineering. Method of dismantling highly active elements of a core of a channel power nuclear reactor includes extraction of a central hall vertically upwards of graphite blocks by means of a crane with columns or groups of columns after dismantling of upper protective elements with guide branch pipe, installed on graphite columns, through the made openings in the upper protective metal structure for subsequent movement of the extracted elements to the stand for disassembly of graphite columns and their selective loading into transport containers in order to further fragmentation, decontamination or protective containers for further recycling.
EFFECT: invention provides minimization of dose loads on the personnel performing the work without increasing the number of primary and reducing secondary radioactive wastes.
