FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to functional diagnostics, therapy, cardiology, gerontology, and can be used to determine biological age in males from 18 to 99 years old. An ultrasonic examination of the heart is performed and the following is determined: a ratio of the peak velocity of early-diastolic filling of the left ventricle to a peak velocity of late-diastolic filling of the left ventricle (E/A), index of end-systolic myocardial stress (ESMS), and by formula calculating biological age of male BA=0.32*CA-7.9*(E/A)+0.09*ESMS, where BA is biological age, years; CA – chronological age, years; E/A is a ratio of peak velocity of early-diastolic filling of left ventricle to peak velocity of late-diastolic filling of left ventricle; ESMS is a measure of end-systolic myocardial stress.

EFFECT: method enables increasing the objectivity of determining the biological age of males and the accuracy of stratifying the risk of cardiovascular complications.
