FIELD: woodworking industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of wood composite materials, such as wood-fiber materials, particle board, veneer. Method involves obtaining a thermally cured resin by polycondensation of a phenol compound and/or an aminoplastic compound with 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF). Resin is then brought into contact with the lignocellulose-containing material and the resin is cured to form a wood composite material. S-hydroxymethylfurfural includes at least one HMF-oligomer.
EFFECT: wood composite materials obtained according to the invention have good mechanical properties, are insensitive to moisture and do not release harmful compounds hazardous for health.
