SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a binder for pulp-containing materials. The proposed binder contains hydroxyaldehyde, a protein-containing component of animal origin and a component containing phenolic oligomers having a weighted average molar mass in the range from 1000 to 5000 g/mol and representing kraft lignin. In addition, the use of a binder for the manufacture of a composite material, a method for manufacturing a composite material, and a composite material obtained by the method are proposed. The binder solidifies in a controlled and rapid manner under normal conditions.

EFFECT: composite materials, which acquire excellent mechanical stability and water resistance; production of composite materials based on pulp-containing natural materials, such as straw, on the surface of which a silicate or paraffin layer is applied.
