FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing composite materials containing lignocellulose. In one embodiment, method involves combining a plurality of lignocellulose substrates and one or more free-radical precursors to produce a mixture of lignocellulose substrates and one or more free-radical precursors. Method may also include holding mixture at temperature of less than 60 °C for at least 10 minutes, while maintaining at least 11 wt% of one or more free-radical precursors, loaded into mixture. Method may then include heating mixture, containing at least 11 wt% of one or more free-radical precursors, loaded into mixture to temperature of at least from 60 °C to about 300 °C to produce composite material. Composite material has density less than 1 g/cm3 and strength of internal adhesion of at least 0.35 MPa.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain composite materials containing lignocellulose, having reduced or missing emission of formaldehyde.
