FIELD: hydraulic engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to river hydroengineering and is intended for creation of necessary conditions for hardening and set of specified characteristics as to strength and water impermeability of clay cement-concrete in diaphragms of soil dams and dams. Method of moisture regime maintenance of transient layers of ground dam at hardening of clay cement-concrete of diaphragm includes preliminary development of trench 6, sanding of sand preparation 7, laying of irrigation pipe 8, backfilling of trench 6 with excavated soil, after completion of works on erection of ground dam or device of its next tier, trench 6 is developed in soils of transition layers 2 and 3, located between soils of ground prism 1 of soil dam, irrigation pipe 8 is protected with geosynthetic filtering material with density of 100–150 g/m2, for example, dornite, and laid in trench 6, then trench 6 filled with sand with seal so that thickness of layer above top of irrigation pipe 8 was not less than 0.2 m, after which water is supplied from tank 13 into irrigation pipe 8, controlling water supply by shut-off valve 12 and flow meter 11, from the crest of the ground dam or the level of its next tier drilling observation wells 9, controlling the moisture content of the soils of transition layers 2 and 3, maintaining it in range of 13–16 %, for example, with a neutron depth moisture meter 10, after performing work on the design of foreshaft 5 and diaphragm 4 and a set of design strength and waterproofness of the clay cement-concrete, irrigation pipe 8 is dismantled, and observation wells 9 are plugged.

EFFECT: provision of moisture conditions for normal hardening of clay cement-concrete of soil dam diaphragm and set of specified characteristics by strength and water impermeability.
