SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing stabilizing additive for asphalt concrete with application of wastes of cotton production. Method of producing stabilizing additive for stone mastic asphalt concrete involves mixing ground cotton fiber obtained from cotton production wastes with an aqueous dispersion containing 5–50 % styrene-acrylic latex, subsequent granulation of the mixture on a flat-matrix granulator and cooling of the finished granules, with the following ratio of components, wt%: cotton fiber 70–90, said water dispersion of latex 10–30, wherein content of latex in its aqueous dispersion can be from 5 to 50 %, and content of latex in the finished product is from 0.5 to 30 %.

EFFECT: simple method of producing an effective stabilizing additive for stone mastic asphalt concrete with the possibility of year-round production and use, obtaining strong granules resistant to sticking at high temperatures.
