FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method for assessing the quality of newly formed regenerated tissue after chondroplasty in rabbits involves computed tomography of interest zones. An animal is followed by computed tomography of the hindlimb to obtain thin sections up to 0.5 mm with overlapping to obtain two series of images with high and low kernel to evaluate bone and soft tissue structures; constructing 3D model of the knee joint region, performing virtual patellar excision in Volume rendering mode, obtaining an overview of the articular patellar femoral bone surface, preliminary conclusion is made on the defect repair by the regenerate relative to the intact articular surface; in a bone window, standard planes are reformatted, obtaining a obliquus coronary and a cross-axial plane so that channels of defects filled with regenerated tissue are located in parallel to the cross-axial and perpendicular to the obliquus planes. In the cross-axial plane, the level of defect filling by the regenerates and their quality are analyzed, calculating the average density of the newly formed tissue in Hounsfield units using a polygonal zone of interest which limits the entire area of the regenerate; and then separately by three circles with diameter of 1 mm in its upper, middle and lower levels.

EFFECT: technical result of the declared invention consists in improvement of quality assessment of the newly formed regenerate at different levels filling the defect after chondroplasty.
