SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to orthopedics, and is intended for use in treating isolated patellofemoral arthrosis of early or middle stage in the presence of focal chondromalacia on a block surface of the femoral bone. An articular cartilage damage contour is determined. A bed for the implant is prepared. A press-fit mini-prosthesis is installed overlapping a zone of an articulating block surface of a distal femur in an area of contact with a patella. At that, the depth of the plate head mounting should be 1.5 mm below the outline of the articulating surface of the cartilaginous layer, and the height of the standing of the top of the mini-prosthesis head is identical to it, besides, the diameter of the milled site should be 1 mm less than the plate head of the implant.

EFFECT: method enables complete and solid replacement of the defect of the focus chondromalacia zone on the block surface of the femoral bone with isolated patellofemoral joint arthrosis of the early or middle stage without injuring intact cartilage zones, as well as reducing intraoperative injuries.
