METHOD OF DETECTING AND ANALYSING ACOUSTIC EMISSION SIGNALS Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC G01N29/14

Abstract RU 2570592 C1

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises detecting and analysing acoustic emission signals via non-threshold recording of acoustic emission monitoring data, which is performed by amplification, analogue-to-digital conversion and recording of a noisy acoustic emission signal without using amplitude discrimination, followed by digital processing thereof, which includes band-pass frequency filtering, detecting the useful acoustic emission signal using an adaptive filter, having at least one input information channel and which divides the recoded time series into two independent components - determined signal component and random noise component, extracting the acoustic emission signal by calculating local parameters of signal and noise time series, averaged within a given width of a sliding time window, performing comparative analysis of the signal and noise time series composed of local parameter values, and adjusting, based thereon, a system of characteristic invariants independent of noise amplitude and intensity, used as information-bearing parameters of acoustic emission for generating diagnostic features of the presence of defects in the control object, performing classification of defects according to the hazard degree and making a decision on the technical state of the control object.

EFFECT: high reliability and objectivity of evaluating the technical state of a control object using an acoustic emission method in a wide range of signal-to-noise ratios, including of the order of or less than one.
