FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to anesthesiology, and can be used for placing a catheter in a subcutaneous canal when performing two-segment spinal epidural anesthesia. That is ensured by modifying a spinal needle by grasping the needle with a "mosquito" type clamp as close as possible to the pavilion, followed by breaking the needle pavilion, fixing the epidural catheter thereon. Proximal end of the needle is inserted inside the catheter for a distance of up to 10 mm, modified surgical clamp of "mosquito" type is used to movement a modified spinal needle with an epidural catheter with translational motions under the skin of the lumbar region, forming a subcutaneous canal in the lateral direction from a prick-in point to a skin perforation with further movement of its not more than 10 mm above the skin. Thereafter, skin puncture is widened with a guide needle at the point of the spinal needle outlet, and a spinal needle with an inserted catheter is delivered through the produced opening, after which the catheter is cut and laid in the canal under the skin.
EFFECT: method simplifies the use of the used spinal needle to conduct the epidural catheter in the subcutaneous canal for a greater distance by bringing the needle and the catheter together with less traumatization of the tissue and smaller diameter of subcutaneous canal, which reduces risk of infectious complications and probability of catheter dislocation.
