FIELD: medicine; anesthesiology; intensive care.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for prolonged blockade of the brachial plexus. After installing the catheter in the subfascial space of the iliac fascia near the femoral nerve, it is fixed under the skin of the anterior abdominal wall in the hypogastric region using a Tuohy guide needle and a spinal needle with a pencil sharpening of the distal end. The internal part of the catheter is 220 mm, and the catheter exit site is located on the skin of the iliac region of the anterior abdominal wall, on the side opposite to the blocked limb, outside the area of the treated surface of the skin of the operated limb.
EFFECT: method allows to perform prolonged blockade of the femoral nerve for the purpose of anesthesia during surgical interventions on the lower limb, postoperative analgesia and in the treatment of acute and chronic pain syndromes while minimizing the risk of catheter displacement by fixing the catheter under the skin of the anterior abdominal wall.
