FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used for modeling age-related macular degeneration. Photodamage of eye structures is performed. Chinchilla male rabbits undergo surgical intervention in sterile conditions under an operating microscope. Under anesthesia puncture of sclera is performed with 25G needle at 10 and 2 o'clock in 4 mm from limb. Then, after the needle is withdrawn, a laser tip of a solid-state green laser with diode pumping at wave length 532 nm is introduced intravitreally, and 15–45 coagulates are applied in the central area of the retina until a weak-yellow spot appears, one optic disk (OD) diameter is offset from OD with the following parameters: spot diameter of 150 mcm, porosity of 150, power of 80–100 mW, diameter of damage area is one OD. Then this zone is treated with light with brightness of 25 lm for 10 minutes using a light guide with a xenon lamp.

EFFECT: method provides reducing postoperative inflammation, directing the photodamaging effect only on the retina, which enables to exclude the formation of other eye pathologies by combining low-coagulation (subthreshold) laser and light exposure to xenon light.
