FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus for inserting an intraocular implant into an anterior eyeball of a patient comprises: an elongated body having a longitudinal axis and having a proximal end and a distal end; push-out button passing through the hole in the housing and moving from the first position to the second position in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of said housing; needle, having a proximal end and a distal bevelled end, wherein the needle extends longitudinally from the distal end of the body and has a lumen, passing along entire length of needle so that intraocular implant can be received inside and moved through needle lumen, wherein the needle can rotate relative to the elongated body in the clockwise and counterclockwise directions about the longitudinal axis of the needle; and an implant holder having a proximal and distal end and a lumen, capable of receiving and retaining an intraocular implant before bringing the device into action, wherein the implant holder is located within the body, in addition, when the above device is actuated, the implant holder is additionally movable from the first position to the second position inside the body along the longitudinal axis of the body and towards the distal end of the above device, wherein the lumen of the implant holder is coaxial with the needle lumen so that after actuation of the above device, the implant can be slidably moved from the lumen of the implant holder into the lumen of the needle, wherein the implant holder at its distal end is closed by the cross-cut membrane, and a needle rotation head located on the proximal end of the body, as a result of manual rotation of said head in clockwise or counterclockwise direction relative to longitudinal axis of housing can lead to corresponding rotation of needle clockwise or counterclockwise along same longitudinal axis of rotation, around which the elongated housing rotates, thereby providing the possibility of complete rotation from 0 ° up to 360 ° needle slant, as well as any gradually increasing turning angle. Pressing the ejector button can actuate the device and push the implant out of the device. A method for introducing an intraocular implant into an anterior eyeball chamber of a patient using the device comprises: representing an intraocular implant delivery device; penetration of a patient's eye cornea with a distal bevelled needle end; inserting a needle into an anterior chamber of the patient's eyeball; ejecting the intraocular implant from the device into the anterior chamber of the patient's eyeball and extracting the needle from the patient's eyeball.
EFFECT: device for intraocular implant delivery and methods for its use are proposed.
