FIELD: test equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to test equipment, namely, to leak testing of articles. Method for checking the tightness of articles includes placing an article in a test chamber, creating a vacuum therein, holding the article with a control time and determining leakage of the article based on the pressure change in the chamber by comparing pressure in the test chamber at the end and beginning of the reference time, as well as with pressure in a reference chamber, the value of which is created equal to pressure in the test chamber provided that the latter is placed in the last reference product with minimum allowable external volume. Device for checking tightness of articles comprises a control unit with a vacuum pump, shut-off valves, an antechamber connected to the test chamber, and an automatic tightness control device, wherein the automatic leak monitoring device comprises two independent control channels with analogue amplifiers, as well as an additional forechamber.
EFFECT: technical result is elimination of dependence of accuracy of control of tightness on change of atmospheric pressure and change of external volume of article within tolerances for manufacture of articles.
