FIELD: test equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to testing equipment. Proposed method consists in preset initial test pressure in control chamber, time of article holding in vacuum, maximum permissible volume of main line, initial test pressure in main line and actual volume of main line. Acceptance value of pressure is determined from reference. Difference in the maximum allowable and actual volume of the main line is used to define the maximum allowable additional volume within which the additional working volume is set, preliminary connect it to the main line, set the initial additional working volume, after evacuation of the control chamber, it is disconnected from the main line, the additional working volume is reduced to the minimum value and the initial steady pressure in the line is recorded, compared with the acceptance line, and as per their difference, a gross leakage is determined, the additional working volume is increased to the initial one, a control chamber is connected, in case of its absence the article is held in vacuum for a specified period of time, the control chamber is switched off, the additional working volume is reduced to the minimum value, and final steady-state pressure is measured in the main line, compared to the initial one and compared to the initial value and the product air-tightness is determined as per their difference.

EFFECT: technical result is increased sensitivity and reduced relative measurement error.
