FIELD: heating.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to induction heating. Heater with rotating magnet for metal items, such as aluminium strip, can contain rotors with permanent magnets located above and under moving metal strip to cause moving or varying in time magnetic fields through metal strip. Variable magnetic fields can generate currents (for example, eddy currents) inside the metal strip, thereby heating the metal strip. Set of magnetic rotors may contain a pair of matched magnetic rotors on opposite sides of the metal strip, which rotate at the same speed. Each magnetic rotor from the set can be located at equal distance from the metal strip to avoid deviation of the metal strip from the process axis. Rear set of magnetic rotors can be used in close proximity to the upstream set of magnetic rotors for compensation of tension caused by the front set of magnetic rotors.
EFFECT: higher efficiency and uniformity of heating.
