FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: to ensure the required characteristics of the surface of metal articles during and after heating, articles are heated in a non-contact heating system using sets of rotating magnets for heating, suspending and/or moving metal articles using them. First set of rotating magnets heats the metal article to the required temperature. Second set of rotary magnets suspends the metal article inside the heating system and maintains the required tension in the metal article, including pushing the metal article through the heating system. Heating system can pass a sufficiently long path to provide for the metal product lulling at the required temperature for the required period.
EFFECT: rotating magnets can be located outside of a non-conductive, heat-resistant chamber filled with inert or low-active gas, through which the metal article passes in the heating system.
